Accessibility statement

28 October 2026 · v2026-10-28

We want the Monsieur François app (Android and iOS) and the site with its documents to be usable by as many people as possible, including those who use screen readers, larger text and other assistive technology. Service provider: Joanna Wargalla, ul. Zawiszy 4 lok. 1, 01-167 Warszawa, Poland.

Conformance status

The app is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA and EN 301 549 because of the non-conformities listed below. We publish this statement voluntarily: as a microenterprise, the provider is not subject to the accessibility obligations for services, but we want to meet them.

What works

Buttons and fields have labels and roles for screen readers (TalkBack, VoiceOver), and decorative icons and emoji are hidden from them. Text scales with the font size set on the phone. Text and button colours meet the required contrast in the light and dark themes. The result of an answer in an exercise is announced to the screen reader, not only shown by colour and sound. Decorative animations stop when reduced motion is switched on in the phone. Recordings in the listening section have a transcript one tap away, and the placement test has a path without listening tasks. The interface supports right-to-left languages.

Known non-conformities

The app has not yet been tested end to end with a screen reader on a device — the reading order on some screens may not be optimal. The layout at the largest font sizes has not been verified on every screen, and some text may wrap or be cut off there. Some exercises by their nature need hearing or speech (dictation, pronunciation training, François Live) and have no full alternative. French words inside an interface in another language may be read by the screen reader with that language’s pronunciation. Some graphics (such as the picture revealed as you progress) are hidden from the screen reader, and the information they carry is given by the text next to them.

How we assessed accessibility

This statement is based on a self-assessment: a review of the app’s code for labels, roles, text scaling, reduced motion and status messages, and contrast calculations for the theme’s colour pairs using the WCAG formula. A full audit with assistive technology is planned.

Feedback and contact

If something in the app is not accessible to you, or you need information in another format, write to contact@monsieurfrancois.app. Describe the problem and the device and assistive technology you use. We will reply within 14 days.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the market surveillance authority for the accessibility of services — in Poland the President of the Management Board of the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON) — or the competent authority in your country.
